When in Paris; Parental Guidance Suggested
Paris is famously known for lust and love and not to mention a lot of nude statues (ehm), it is a city where all your experiences relate to the above 2 categories. From architecture to its rich history dating back to Mona Lisa, all revolve around the same genre.
All this may give you butterflies in your stomach unless you choose to travel to Paris with your folks.
Still hoping for it to be small talk just to initiate things I followed him to the end of the balcony (don’t forget parents still in the background)
I set the camera to night mode ready to woo him with my photography skills (otherwise what good my media sciences degree would be to me)
As soon as I raised my head, I saw Romeo making out with a girl, holding her by her waist tightly and not only did my heart shatter into a million pieces, I almost dropped the DSLR wanting to cover my eyes, our desi reaction to obscenity that comes out naturally. I wish I could change the channel but you know how the remote control has the ability to sense a brown parent and it refuses to work when they walk in on you watching something X-rated unintentionally.
Amidst all the panic and disbelief my mind could not comprehend why they would not stop. Are they not aware of their whereabouts? Should I make them stop? What do they want from a desi teenager with her parents guarding her chastity? Do they want to rub my relationship status in my face? And in that moment I realized they chose to pose this way.
I quickly clicked 3 good ones (hoping they aren’t blur, watching a live kiss can makes a brown kid shaky). I looked around thanking God my parents aren’t around, sparing me some embarrassment. But guess what? I was wrong. Brown parents are always on a look out. Yes! They saw it all.
