Almost around same time last year I started a closed facebook group only for Pakistani women, that most of the readers already know by the name of Travel Diaries Pakistan. Also around same time last year I had recently returned from a much needed vacation which helped me recover from the greatest loss of my life, if not completely, at least to a great extent.
My own experience of taking a break from my imperfect life at that point in time led me to believe that travelling can be therapeutic and should not just be considered a luxury, also this particular belief needs to be introduced and infused into our minds firstly; consequently the idea of a travel group came into being.
Why was the target audience only chosen to be women for the group?
For so many reasons, not just because female only groups are a thing these days and because I might be a feminist (I am still not too sure about that) Lol.
Lets start with the fact that women are born with the natural instinct to compromise, though this may sound offensive to some but women tend to put themselves last when it comes to responsibilities, especially in our society. Though I fully support their motives and everyone does not sleep on a bed of roses but some try too hard unfortunately. Women need to be taught to let go and enjoy without drowning in guilt.
The kid you have been working double shifts for so that he can join a riding class would also appreciate going for a holiday and share experiences with a less distracted and distressed mother.
The coffee table that would just put your living room in the right mood is not worth giving up a stay-cation with your husband and investing in your relationship.
With some women the compromise goes one step further, you might see them compromising on themselves for their own needs. Confusing? Remember that limited edition bag you have been saving for? That is only turning you into a spiteful slave of your own desires and not worth it. Some pinterest genius once quoted, collect memories not just possessions. Enough said!
By now if you think I hold something against men and I do not count them in when I think about compromise, boys would be happy to know that I blame them equally for the exploitation of their right to deserve a decent vacation.
Luckily there will be no gender discrimination for the viewership of this blog.
Dear readers! This ends here and I am sure it leaves a few questions unanswered, stay with us to find out more About the blog itself and the ones contributing in it (yes there will be more than just one).
