Pakistani Nationals are eligible to visit the country for the purpose of tourism without having to go through a ton of paper work, under the category of their electronic visa.
The procedure is simple, saves you a lot of anxiety related to visa approvals and is easy on the pocket as well. The regular electronic visa costs 23 U.S Dollars + tax and is approved within 3 working days under normal circumstances.
The government also offers an urgent visa service that costs slightly more than the regular one but the visa is issued and emailed to you between 1 to 2 working days.
Here comes the catch
Although the procedure for the visa application is highly convenient and efficient, you must make sure that you are on the correct website.
If you feel that won’t be an issue because Google has got your back, you are in for a surprise.
Once you click the search button on your favorite search engine you will be surprised to see websites owned by agents ranking higher than the official website of the consulate.
Not only have the agents applied some great search engine optimization techniques, they have also done an excellent job at copying the look and feel of the official website of the consulate.
This obviously makes it difficult for the tourists to distinguish and they most likely end up applying for the super simple electronic visa through an agent.
Sure there is no harm in doing that, only if you are confident about the authenticity of the unofficial website and are willing to pay the extra service charges for the agent PLUS the visa fee.
Psst…Before stumbling upon the official website, I too paid an extra 40 U.S Dollars to one of the online agents in the name of visa fee which were thankfully refundable upon cancellation.
